Knowledge, Dedication and Success: A New Generation of Engineers Promoted at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade ceremonially promoted another generation of engineers ready to transform their acquired knowledge and skills into future projects, industrial development and technological innovation. Diplomas confirming the completion of Master’s academic studies and the academic title of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering were awarded to 118 graduates, while 50 students who had completed their Bachelor studies received the professional title of Mechanical Engineer.

At separate ceremonies, diplomas were presented to the young colleagues by the Vice-Dean for Teaching, prof. dr Živana Jakovljević, who extended sincere congratulations, as well as words of support and encouragement for their future professional development and careers.

Addressing the new Master Mechanical Engineers, prof. dr Jakovljević emphasised that the diploma award ceremony represents one of the most solemn moments in the life of the Faculty.

„I would like to congratulate you on completing your Master’s academic studies and obtaining the academic title of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I know that the path through studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was not easy and that you often faced numerous challenges, but I am certain that there were also many wonderful moments. What I am sure of is that you have acquired the appropriate knowledge, competencies and skills that will be of great benefit in your future work,“ prof. dr Živana Jakovljević stated.

She particularly stressed that, in addition to professional expertise, mechanical engineers develop during their studies a specific way of thinking that helps them not only in solving engineering problems, but also in everyday life.

„In addition to earning your diploma, you are becoming part of a large family of more than 25,000 mechanical engineers. As members of this great family, I invite you to be proud of your Faculty, just as the Faculty is proud of you and your achievements. Support one another and preserve collegiality,“ she emphasised, inviting the graduates to join the Alumni Foundation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

At a separate ceremony, diplomas were also awarded to students who had completed their  Bachelor academic studies.

Congratulating them on successfully completing their education, prof. dr Jakovljević expressed hope that most of them would continue their professional development through Master’s studies.

„I hope that among the total of 22 disciplines studied at the Faculty, you have found a specialisation that interests you and in which you will build your professional career. My greatest wish is that we gather here again in two years’ time, when you will receive your Master’s degree diplomas,“ prof. dr Jakovljević said in closing.

The ceremonies were also attended by Snežana Golubović Radosavljević, Head of the Student Affairs Office, and Dr Dragoljub Bekrić, Associate in Higher Education at the Teaching Support Department, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
