Triumph of Belgrade Mechanical Engineering Students at the 65th Mašinijada

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is the absolute winner of this year’s Mašinijada, held in Peštani, North Macedonia. Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade triumphed in both competition categories – winning first place in the overall academic knowledge ranking as well as first place in the overall sports ranking, which rightfully earned them the title of overall winners of the 65th Mašinijada.

The competitors in the academic disciplines particularly distinguished themselves by winning as many as six first places.

In the field of Mechanics, the winners were Dunja Broćić and Miljan Vinković, under the mentorship of Professor Aleksandar Obradović, while in Thermodynamics the top performers were Petar Velisavljević and Andrej Vukajlović, mentored by teaching assistant Branislav Petrović.

First places were also achieved in Mathematics 1, where Tijana Predić and Petar Bogdanović claimed victory, as well as in Mathematics 2, where Marko Tišma and Jovan Radovanović achieved the best results. Both teams were led by Professor Aleksandar Pejčev.

In the field of Strength of Materials, Aleksa Rastović and Anastasija Petrić triumphed under the mentorship of teaching assistant Milan Janković, while in Machine Elements, Milan Jakovljević and Andrija Eraković secured first place with the support of teaching assistant Pavle Ljubojević.

A notable result was also achieved in Fluid Mechanics, where Natalija Novaković and Anđela Novakov won third place under the mentorship of teaching assistant Nikola Milosavljević.

Behind this success is the dedication of the teaching staff and associates, as well as the tremendous effort and commitment of the students, who represented the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the best possible way and once again confirmed the high quality of education, knowledge and team spirit that the Faculty has fostered for decades.

The sporting achievements were no less impressive. Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering won first place in men’s chess, men’s and women’s futsal, men’s and women’s basketball, as well as men’s handball and women’s volleyball. Second places were achieved by the men’s volleyball team and the women’s chess team.

For decades, Mašinijada has represented one of the most significant gatherings of students from mechanical engineering and related technical faculties across the region. The event was originally established with the idea of bringing together students of mechanical engineering faculties through competitions in knowledge, sports and social activities, and over time it has grown into a symbol of academic spirit, collegiality and fair competition.

This year’s Mašinijada, held from 13 to 17 May 2026, brought together faculties of mechanical engineering from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, East Sarajevo and Skoplje, while the Belgrade students demonstrated clear dominance both on the sports field and in the areas of professional knowledge.

The main organiser of this year’s Mašinijada was the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Niš, with significant support from the Student Union of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade and the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade.
