<\/a><\/p>\nDuring the tour of the center, students had the opportunity to learn about warehouse operations, systems and subsystems, storage equipment, mobile logistics equipment, modern technology for storing and picking small parts, the sorting system, customs brokerage services, as well as the application of WMS software solutions in warehouse process management.<\/p>\n
Particular emphasis was placed on the applied technologies and the organisation of warehouse processes, including the storage and handling of customs and commercial goods, operations involving both standard and oversized cargo, as well as the handling of palletised and non-palletised goods.<\/p>\n
Within these activities, special attention was given to order preparation at the pallet, box and individual item levels, as well as the application of the \u201cCross Dock\u201d concept in combination with conventional racking systems and picking processes. In addition, students were introduced to supplementary logistics services such as product declaration, packaging and labelling, warehouse process management in clients\u2019 production and distribution facilities, as well as monitoring key product parameters, including shelf life, packaging quality and return control. Reporting systems and consulting services were also presented as an important segment of logistics operations.<\/p>\n As part of inbound logistics, the students became familiar with qualitative and quantitative goods inspection procedures, inventory optimization, order management, as well as online process monitoring and reporting systems.<\/p>\n Particular interest was generated by the „AutoStore“ system, one of the most advanced automated solutions for storing and order picking of small goods.<\/p>\n The students were introduced to the operating principles of the system, warehouse space organization, and the movement of robotic units, with special emphasis on advantages such as high space utilization, improved process efficiency and shorter order preparation times. The integration of the AutoStore system with WMS software solutions was particularly highlighted, as it contributes significantly to the optimization of logistics and distribution processes. Students also learned about an automated system for sorting small parts that uses small autonomous vehicles (robots).<\/p>\n The visit was organized by Professor Dr Nenad Kosani\u0107, together with teaching assistant Aleksandra Arsi\u0107 and senior technical associate Goran Milojevi\u0107 from Department of Material Handling, Constructions and Logistics.<\/p>\n The visit was assessed as highly valuable for the students, especially considering that, as part of the course requirements, they are expected to develop a conceptual design project for a warehouse-distribution system.
