The University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, recently hosted Jo\u00e3o Pedro Taborda, Vice President for Government Affairs at Embraer, one of the world\u2019s leading aerospace companies. The distinguished guest was welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Dr Vladimir Popovi\u0107.<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Development, Prof. Dr Maja Todorovi\u0107, Vice Dean for Finance, Prof. Dr Aleksandar Grbovi\u0107, and Prof. Dr Marko Milo\u0161. During the discussions, participants explored potential directions for future collaboration between the faculty and Embraer. The faculty\u2019s educational, research, and engineering capacities were presented, along with opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n

As part of the visit, the guest was introduced to several faculty laboratories. The research activities and projects of the Laboratory for Cybernetics and Mechatronic Systems (CMSysLab) and the Laboratory for Manufacturing Automation were presented by Prof. Dr \u017divana Jakovljevi\u0107, Head of both laboratories. The work of the Laboratory for Thermal Turbomachinery and Thermal Power plants was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr Sr\u0111an B. Mili\u0107 and Assist. Prof. Dr \u0110or\u0111e D. Petkovi\u0107. Particular attention was drawn to the Laboratory for Aerodynamics \u2013 Wind Tunnel \u201cMiroslav Nenadovi\u0107\u201d, presented by Prof. Dr Aleksandar M. Simonovi\u0107, showcasing its capabilities for experimental research in aerodynamics.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1969 in Brazil, Embraer is today one of the most prominent global manufacturers of commercial, business, and military aircrafts. With tens of thousands of employees and a strong global presence, the company is recognised for its development of regional jets, advanced defense systems, and innovative solutions in urban air mobility.<\/p>\n
